The Fourth Form History Course is a part of the CSEC Caribbean History syllabus and examines topics which were not covered in Third Form. It is expected that students be exposed to five themes within this academic year. The themes covered examine the formation and nature of Caribbean society after emancipation. These topics focus on the adjustment to emancipation, the formation of the peasantry class, economic diversification, and the Independence movement. Upon completion of the course students are expected to develop a general knowledge and understanding of the experiences of the people of the Caribbean. They will be able to understand, appreciate and respect cultural diversity. Each student sitting the exam is expected to submit an SBA as a partial requirement for History CXC examination. The SBA focuses on the student's ability to evaluate primary and secondary sources, analyze and interpret historical data, and draw informed conclusions.
